The first wonderful year of your child’s primary school adventure.
Strathmore Primary School is a learning community that inspires each other to explore, create and learn. We value and foster trusting and respectful relationships with students and their families, and promote a safe and positive environment where learning in a classroom and belonging to our school community are key elements to a smooth transition to the first year at school.
Our Foundation students focus on developing fundamental literacy and numeracy skills from which further learning is built, through teaching interactions with others, experimentation and practice in the classroom and school community. Rich tasks and direct experiences further enhance our Inquiry learning program, and provide opportunities for students to make authentic connections between learning at school, home and the wider world.
Some of the many exciting school-wide events our students engage in are; Italian Day, World Environment Week, Book Week and our Foundation celebration of 100 Days of School. Our ‘partner class’ program provides opportunities for cross age activities and relationship building between students, and students also engage with parents and the wider community through enriching programs such as Community Reading and interactive direct experiences related to our Inquiry units of study.
