Grade 1

In Grade 1, Strathmore Primary School is committed to providing students with a supportive, inclusive and safe learning environment that will encourage them to learn, be creative, grow and develop into resilient individuals. The teachers work collaboratively to plan curriculum that is differentiated, authentic and challenges all learners with engaging experiences.

Grade 1 includes a significant transition as students move from Foundation to a more extensive learning environment, where they continue to build on the skills they have developed. In Grade 1, students work as a learning community where they learn the importance of working together as a team respectfully and responsibly with their peers, and develop their confidence as more independent learners.

Students participate in a range of whole school programmed activities; Italian Day, Book Week, Footy Day, Fun Run, Incursions and Excursions. Students also engage with family members in our Community Reading program each week to promote a love and enjoyment of reading.
